A new outlook and 27 days to go

There is now some urgency to finish off my training well with inside a month to race day in New York. The weather has continued to be up and down with rain this weekend and plenty of wind prior to this. I was back on the rowing machine earlier in the week with a spell up at Lake Clearwater, almost every day it was blowing hard along with more rain. The very low Lake Camp has definitely recovered some what although it is still a long way from over flowing. The moist conditions should be good for the plants we have ready to plant around the path from the road and the rock wall.

New view from the kitchen table
The sessions on the rowing machine were hard work to start with but I did feel better after the last row before we came back to Ashburton and back into the racing chair. The builders have now started on the other major part of the rebuild in the kitchen/dining area. They have removed all the windows in the NW corner and  started framing up the new external walls on the foundations they laid earlier. I am now sitting at kitchen table surrounding by framing timber and some temporary sheets of plywood to keep the weather out.

The summary of my training sessions completed since my last post is 46km of rowing and a 32.5km push in tough breezy conditions with over 2 hours 20 minutes spent pushing. With a reasonable forecast for next week I am hoping to get at least four more sessions in my racing chair completed.
