Another Puncture and New Gloves

We are back in Ashburton and I have been out in the racing chair for four consecutive days. The first outing had me using new gloves for the first time. My old gloves were purchased after the 2015 NYC marathon when I continued to compete in some races in NZ. With the training that started at the beginning of the year these gloves have become worn out. I therefore ordered some new gloves from Harness in the US who make these speciality gloves. They weren't cheap with freight and the high US$, they cost over $NZ500. ACC might help out with this cost.

Having new gloves is like a new pair of boots that need wearing in. The first push they did feel uncomfortable. On this push I also managed to have another flat tyre. With not puncture repair spray can I had to call for help from Yvonne. Since this push I have had two more training sessions without incident including a longer push where I went beyond 25km with a good average speed of 13.9km/hr. Fingers crossed the weather stays kind and I can keep training regularly.
