Quiz Night Great Success

Last Friday was our Quiz night fundraiser and it was a great success. We had fifteen teams and from the feedback we got it appears people had a good time. As requested our teams brought plenty of cash and we sold out of raffle tickets almost before the quiz started. Teams also fronted up with cash to buy answers and we sold a couple of weekends at the bach at Lake Clearwater. Along with the team entry fees less the cost of food we netted about $2,500.

The event would not have taken place without a small group of volunteers. Yvonne organised food and the logistics around this. On the night Yvonne was running around every where extracting money out of people and helping where required. Annie Jacobs our quiz master did a brilliant job, she even did some stand up comedy when there was some gaps in the programme. Our markers for the night were Rosalie Fleming and Janet Cuttle and we also had Rose Kellet helped with everything else. A huge thank you to the Hampstead All Sports Club for providing the venue which was perfect for our event. The event was also made possible with the help of local businesses who donated prizes. These business are shown below along with some businesses that have made significant cash donations.

My training continues as do finally head up to the bach. I managed another record training push of almost 36km and 2 hours 36 minutes long. The total training completed since the last post totals 106.6 km of training in the racing chair and on the rowing machine.
