Back to Ashburton & Plenty of Rowing
After spending a few days up at the Lake Clearwater we are now back in Ashburton as the builders were laid low with a stomach compliant. We are now here until the Quiz Night on Friday. Since coming back from the lake there has been some pretty average weather which has meant I haven't been training in my racing chair since 2 August. I have though kept working out on the rowing machine completing in excess of 55 km. As part of the Concept2 indoor rower community I take part in challengers. Currently am in the middle of the "Dog Days of Summer Challenge". Obviously a challenge for our northern hemisphere friends, I have knocked off the first two weeks easily enough.
Going back out in the chair today for a training push. The weather is good, the sun is out and it is a balmy 8 degrees.
If you are reading this in Ashburton I hope you are about to email me with the details of your quiz team to compete in our big quiz night this Friday. It should be a lot of fun. We have had some great support from local businesses donating prizes and money. Please support these businesses when you can. They include;
Tarbotton Land & Civil Forest Management Ltd
Port Blakely Ltd Heli Rural Methven
Blair Excavation Laurie Forestry Ltd
Kakahu Logging Triangle Expresso
Life Pharmacy Netherby Pharmacy
Drummond Etheridge (John Deere)
