Altitude Training Camp

The long talked about move to Lake Clearwater has now happen. The builders at this very moment should ripping the old kitchen log burner and brick chimney. This double chimney goes through to the 2nd bedroom which we have been using so there is now no where to sleep at 95 Walker apart from the lazyboy chairs in the living room. They will also be opening out the old kitchen to the new foundation which will form the new master bedroom with ensuite.

Mean while at Lake Clearwater Yvonne has managed to get her office working. The last time we were up here her large gaming monitor was drawing too much power and the inverter started to shutdown. On our last trip up from Ashburton we brought my rowing machine so that my training can continue. I have now had 3 rowing sessions and my lungs definitely seem to be finding it harder now that we are living at 2,230 feet above sea level. I am using feet because it sounds more impressive than 680 metres. Training at altitude is of course what elite athletes do to maximise their performance. When I return to lower altitudes I should be flying!

The view from my erg has definitely improved from the hallway back in Ashburton. I now look out over the Clearwater huts and up to mountains. I also share the baches living area with Yvonne, hence I have invested in some head phones so that Yvonne doesn't have to put up with my load music.
