Weather Woes and a death in the family
Canterbury has had some pretty rough weather for the last week with snow, rain and cold winds. This has forced me to train on the rowing erg for the last six days. I rattled up 94km. Yesterday the rain stopped and the sun came out briefly and I managed to do a push. Conditions were cool at 8.0 degrees along with a lazy breeze. I completed my longest push yet of 30km, 2hours 7 minutes. Although I was pacing myself I still managed an average speed of 14 km/hr. The weather is suppose to cut up rough again today so it looks like I will be back on the rower.
Away from training I have been helping my daughter Kate get a new car. Her VW Golf Wagon which has served her well for about 7 years has died. Kate was given an estimated repair bill of close to $5,000 to resuscitate it. We have now found her a replacement vehicle so that she can get to work and visit her favourite Dad. Anybody wanting a VW Golf wagon, as is where is, can contact me. You need to be quick as the wreckers are coming.
