| Heading back down Mitcham Road |
Training for another week concluded with distances increasing to what I was doing prior to the Christchurch Half Marathon. Two rows and two pushes with both pushes affected by north west winds. The push on Thursday I turned around after the strong winds hitting me on Mitcham Road almost made me go backwards, total distance 16.3km and average speed 12.6 km/hr. Yesterdays push with Yvonne coming along was better with less wind and the body feeling fresher. This push was the usual 20.4km and with good technique I managed an average pace of 14.9 km/hr and a fastest yet maximum speed of 24.6 km/hr. Rain today means I will be back on the rowing machine. We are preparing to get the builders in to continue modifications to 95 Walker St. New roof, chimneys coming out, windows being replaced and much more! To enable this we got shipping container dropped on the front lawn so that we could move house contents out to enable the work.
