Training Continues But Registration for Marathon in Doubt
Normally my registration would be through Achilles International but unfortunately I missed the deadline for registration. I have therefore gone to Marathon Tours to see if they can get me in. Unfortunately they only have registrations for the running section of the marathon, not the wheelchair section. There people are still trying to help.
With the the possibility of not being able to get an entry into the marathon I still need to keep training. I am competing in the Christchurch 1/2 marathon next month and there are other options if the New York marathon doesn't work out. At the end of October there is the Auckland marathon, an event I have always been keen on. I may need to rename this blog!!
With regard to training since my last post I have continued sessions on the erg and getting out in the pushrim chair. I did almost 7 hours on the erg when I wasn't on the road.
Workouts on the road were 16km Saturday 1 March, 17.5km Wednesday 5 March, 16km Friday 7 March and 20km Monday 10 March. This last sessions was completed without assistance from Yvonne who is visiting her new grand daughter Quinn in the Waikato.
