Morning Push - 20km
I headed out this morning for a push prior to the Ashburton Rural Fire camping weekend in Fairlie. This event happened every autumn with the last trip to Kaikoura. This weekend we shouldn't have too many problems with sea sick people on fishing trips. I thought we could have taken Harry's Subaru Outback and put my racing chair in the back and done some training on the Fairlie back roads, maybe push up to Lake Opuha? Yvonne had other ideas and loaded the Outlander so the next few days I will be resting. I will need to make sure I don't imbibe to much and set my training back.

The training session today was pretty good with not too much wind. Heading up the road I got in to a good rhythm although when I started on Mitcham Road and the incline increased and with the head wind my paced eased. When I turned around at the Winchmore Dromore Road intersection those adverse factors became assists and my speed picked up. By the end of session I had completed 20km in a record time of 1 hour 24 minutes with an average speed in excess 14km/hr.
