Untidy Exit

I was back out in the racing chair yesterday and looking at doing a solo training session after making some additions to the chair including some NZ identifications - NZ flags and silver ferns plus a flashing red arrow to ward off crazy motorists. I headed out and the chair was making some interesting noises and rubbing sounds. After getting not too far up the road I decided to turn around and head home to sort things out. When I got back I ask Yvonne to have a look at things and make sure I didn't have another loose wheel. During this process I must of got too much weight to the back of the chair and the front wheel flew in the air and I tipped out the back of the chair. Another unplanned exit from the chair onto the ground. Yvonne didn't waste any time and took a quick photo of me.

Ungraceful dismount
Not a pretty site and this falling out of chairs is becoming too common! After this fall from grace we thought it might be a good idea for Yvonne to come along for the training session. Before we headed out I tried to work out what the issue was without a lot of luck. While I was taking wheels off and inspecting the chair I sprayed most of the moving parts with CRC, solves all problems right?

We eventually did head away and the breeze was up and the time was pretty close to 5pm. This meant we were headed into the Ashburton rush hour. And the roads were chocker with other vehicles, lucky I have Yvonne looking after me. The breeze was the strongest I had been out in and it was a battle heading out. Heading home was totally different with world record speeds I am guessing. As this was a mid week push we did not push it too hard and only completed 10km. Photos of mods/decorations below.
