Tight Fit

The workout on the road is only part of the struggle. As mentioned in the last post getting in and out of the racing chair is a workout in itself. My new racing wheelchair is custom made and very snug and quite challenging to get in and out of. The position I take in the chair has me kneeling into the snug chassis. Entering the chair requires me to cross my legs as I transfer and rotating my hips to slide in. The exit from the chair is possibly more difficult especially with my fatigued arms required to push me out. After more experience I am now able to get into the chair without assistance. See the video of me getting into the chair.

The day of this video we pushed a 10.3 km circuit following a 30-minute erg session earlier in the day.
